Can Singaporeans apply for 3 months visa?

Yes. Singapore visitors can apply for a Vietnam visa valid for up to 3 months, single or multiple entry. You can apply for a visa at the Vietnamese embassy in Singapore or get Vietnam visa on arrival at the airport.

How to get 3-months visa to Vietnam for Singapore passport holders?

As mentioned above, there are currently 2 ways to apply for 3-months visa to Vietnam for Singaporeans, consisting of:

• Getting an embassy visa
• Getting a visa on arrival.

Applying for Vietnam visa at the embassy

This was the single way to get Vietnam visa for Singaporeans when the Vietnam government had not applied visa on arrival.

In case Singaporeans wish to apply for a longer-term visa in Vietnam, for example, Vietnam 3 months business visa or Vietnam3 months tourist visa, they can apply for a visa at the Vietnam embassy in Singapore or in a third country (for example, Singaporeans in Laos can apply at the Vietnam Embassy in Laos).

• Original passport with at least 1 blank page and still valid for at least 30 days from the date of entry into Vietnam.

• Original passport with at least 1 blank page and still valid for at least 30 days from the date of entry into Vietnam.
• Visa application form.
• 1 photo 4×6 cm.
• Copy of first and last sheet of passport.
• Invitation letter from relatives in Vietnam.
• Account statement in at least 3 months. Acceptable balance: VND 50,000,000.

♦ Business:

• Original passport with at least 1 blank page and still valid for at least 30 days from the date of entry into Vietnam.
• Visa application form.
• 1 photo 4×6 cm.
• Copy of first and last sheet of passport.
• Return air ticket or to a third country.
• Account statement in at least 3 months. Acceptable balance: VND 50,000,000.
• Approval letter from Vietnam Immigration Department.

Note: Additional documents may be required by the diplomatic missions.

After preparing the documents, you will bring them to the embassy to submit. If the documents are sufficient, the embassy staff will ask you to pay the fee and give the appointment. If the application does not contain sufficient documents, you will be provided with additional instructions. On the date of appointment, you return to the embassy to get the results.

Applying for Vietnam visa on arrival

This way is much preferred by many Singaporeans traveling to Vietnam by air. To get it, the applicants will first need to apply online for a visa approval letter which is issued by the Vietnam Immigration Department via a travel agent in Vietnam, and finally, get visa stamped upon arrival at Vietnam airport. No documents are required to apply for 3 months visa to Vietnam for holders of Singapore passport.

• Advantages: Convenient as the entire application process is completed online. It is also very fast and one can get the visa approval letter within 02 working hours (see our Urgent service). It is also available for both tourist and business visas.
• Disadvantages: You have to take one more step, which is the visa stamping at Vietnam airport. If you want to enter Vietnam by road, you cannot apply for a Vietnam visa this way.

Vietnam 3 months visa fee for Singaporeans

The visa fees for Singaporean passport holders depend on the way they choose to get their visa for Vietnam:

• For embassy visa, the fee may vary case by case.
• For visa on arrival, the fee is US $25 (for a single entry) or US $50 (for a multiple entry) PLUS a service fee for visa approval letter (which is from US $22 for a single entry visa or US $33 for a multiple entry visa valid for up to 3 months).

If the travel forth back from the embassy of Vietnam in Singapore puts you in trouble, you have visa on arrival to deal with. Its process is completely different. It allows you to get a visa approval letter online without submission of any document, and then pick up full visa at Vietnam airport upon your arrival there.

How to get

Here is the process to get Vietnam visa on arrival in Singapore:

1. Access to https://booking.vietnam-visa.com/step1.html, and complete the form there (no document is required);
2. Make payment of service fee online;
3. Receive visa approval letter via email within guaranteed time;
4. Get visa stamped upon original passport upon arrival at Vietnam airport (a few minutes at the airport).

Advantages:

1. Convenient for those living far from the embassy;
2. Short processing time (2 working days only);
3. Urgent processing (1 – 2 working days only);
4. No hassle with sending away the passport;
5. Applicable for both business and leisure travelers;
6. Valid for up to 1 year.

Disadvantages:

1. Available for those traveling to Vietnam by air only;
2. Possible long queue at Vietnam Immigration Counter at Vietnam airport to get visa stamped;
3. Often processed in group.

3. E-visa

This is the newest way to get a valid visa for Vietnam.

How to get:

Its entire process is also completed online.

1. Access to https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/web/guest/trang-chu-ttdt, complete the online form;
2. Get an application code and pay for a non-refundable fee online (US$25);
3. Get visa processing results (approved or rejected) after 3 working days;
4. Print out the visa if approved and show to the immigration official upon arrival in Vietnam.

Advantages:

1. Convenient for those living far from the embassy;
2. No hassle with sending away the passport;
3. Low cost (US$25 only);

Disadvantages:

1. For tourists only;
2. Valid for 30 days with single entry only;
3. Only being informed that your visa application is approved or not after 3 working days;
4. Limited to citizens of 40 countries only, and Singaporeans are not included in the list.

Then, when you check in at departure airport, you need to show this letter to get on board and then show it together with other documents and stamping fee as guided to pick up full visa at Vietnam airport.

How much does it cost?

To use business visa on arrival to Vietnam, Singaporean travelers need to pay two kinds of fee: service fee and stamping fee. While the former is paid online to Vietnamvisa.sg for processing visa approval letter (as such, it is sometimes called visa approval letter cost), the latter is paid in cash to Vietnam immigration officer at Vietnam airport to get visa stamped there.

While the latter is fixed for each type of visa, the former is flexible depending on number of applicants and type of processing time.
