Vietnam 3 months visa for Singaporeans

Citizens of Singapore are allowed to enter Vietnam for 30 days without having to apply for entry visas provided that they enter Vietnam with a passport valid for at least 06 months beyond their arrival date and they are not subjects of being banned from entry to Vietnam. If eligible, the Immigration Office at the border will stamp the visa exemption on their passport. However, as a holder of Singaporean passport, if you want to stay in Vietnam longer, you can apply for a long-term visa.

Can Singaporeans apply for 3 months visa?

Yes. Singapore visitors can apply for a Vietnam visa valid for up to 3 months, single or multiple entry. You can apply for a visa at the Vietnamese embassy in Singapore or get Vietnam visa on arrival at the airport.

How to get 3-months visa to Vietnam for Singapore passport holders?

As mentioned above, there are currently 2 ways to apply for 3-months visa to Vietnam for Singaporeans, consisting of:

  • Getting an embassy visa
  • Getting a visa on arrival.

Applying for Vietnam visa at the embassy

This was the single way to get Vietnam visa for Singaporeans when the Vietnam government had not applied visa on arrival.

  • Advantages: You will be given a visa right on your passport before departure for
  • Disadvantages: The procedure is perhaps more The normal processing time is about 5 – 7 days. Same day, weekend or a few working hours processing is not available.

In case Singaporeans wish to apply for a longer-term visa in Vietnam, for example, Vietnam 3 months business visa or Vietnam3 months tourist visa, they can apply for a visa at the Vietnam embassy in Singapore or in a third country (for example, Singaporeans in Laos can apply at the Vietnam Embassy in Laos).

At the Vietnam embassy in Singapore, the applicant has to present the passport, required documents, the visa application form and pay the fee as prescribed by the Government of Vietnam.

♦ Travel:

  • Original passport with at least 1 blank page and still valid for at least 30 days from the date of entry into Vietnam.
  • Visa application form.
  • 1 photo 4×6 cm.
  • Copy of first and last sheet of passport.
  • Return air ticket or to a third country.
  • Account statement in at least 3 months. Acceptable balance: VND 50,000,000.

♦ Visiting relatives:

  • Original passport with at least 1 blank page and still valid for at least 30 days from the date of entry into Vietnam.
  • Visa application form.
  • 1 photo 4×6 cm.
  • Copy of first and last sheet of passport.
  • Invitation letter from relatives in Vietnam.
  • Account statement in at least 3 months. Acceptable balance: VND 50,000,000.

♦ Business:

  • Original passport with at least 1 blank page and still valid for at least 30 days from the date of entry into Vietnam.
  • Visa application form.
  • 1 photo 4×6 cm.
  • Copy of first and last sheet of passport.
  • Return air ticket or to a third country.
  • Account statement in at least 3 months. Acceptable balance: VND 50,000,000.
  • Approval letter from Vietnam Immigration Department.

Note: Additional documents may be required by the diplomatic missions.

After preparing the documents, you will bring them to the embassy to submit. If the documents are sufficient, the embassy staff will ask you to pay the fee and give the appointment. If the application does not contain sufficient documents, you will be provided with additional instructions. On the date of appointment, you return to the embassy to get the results.

Applying for Vietnam visa on arrival

This way is much preferred by many Singaporeans traveling to Vietnam by air. To get it, the applicants will first need to apply online for a visa approval letter which is issued by the Vietnam Immigration Department via a travel agent in Vietnam, and finally, get visa stamped upon arrival at Vietnam airport. No documents are required to apply for 3 months visa to Vietnam for holders of Singapore passport.

  • Advantages: Convenient as the entire application process is completed online. It is also very fast and one can get the visa approval letter within 02 working hours (see our Urgent service). It is also available for both tourist and business visas.
  • Disadvantages: You have to take one more step, which is the visa stamping at Vietnam airport. If you want to enter Vietnam by road, you cannot apply for a Vietnam visa this way.

Vietnam 3 months visa fee for Singaporeans

The visa fees for Singaporean passport holders depend on the way they choose to get their visa for Vietnam:

  • For embassy visa, the fee may vary case by case.
  • For visa on arrival, the fee is US $25 (for a single entry) or US $50 (for a multiple entry) PLUS a service fee for visa approval letter (which is from US $22 for a single entry visa or US $33 for a multiple entry visa valid for up to 3 months).

Vietnam 3-months Visa processing time

  • When applying for a visa at a Vietnamese embassy, the processing time will be about 7 days. If you have urgent needs for the day, it will be difficult to meet.
  • When applying for a Vietnam visa on arrival, the processing time varies from 2 working hours, 4 working hours, 1 working day to 2 working days for a tourist visa and 2 to 7 working days for a business visa.
