“Discover Vietnam” photo exhibition opens

Those who do not have enough time to discover the whole Vietnam shall have a great chance to discover Vietnam via its great photos exhibited in the a photo exhibition themed “Discover Vietnam” opened in Hanoi on January 6 by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST). The exhibition features 100 best items selected from a competition launched in August 2015. Addressing the event, Deputy Minister of MoCST and head of the competition’s steering committee Vuong Duy Bien said the photo contest and the subsequent exhibition were among activities to carry out the 2015 national tourism promotion project.

The events aimed at introducing the beauty of Viet Nam’s landscapes, traditional culture, and people to international friends.

After two months, the contest received over 4,200 entries from more than 960 authors from in and outside the country.

At the exhibition, the organizing board presented one first prize, two second prizes, three third prizes and five consolation prizes. The first prize came to “Kham pha de bao ve ran san ho” (Discover to protect coral reef) by Pham Van Thanh from the central coastal province of Binh Thuan.

The photo show runs at No. 29 Hang Bai Street until January 13.
